Make Money

If you are looking for a part-time income to supplement your full-time employment or maybe your pension, consider becoming one of our sub-licensees. We do not undertake the research of the coats of arms and surname histories available on this site, instead we have a licence from the world's largest heraldic research company that is based in Canada. Licences are not cheap and no more are being sold in the UK, however you can become a sub-licensee.

What Do You Get? The software to enable you to print around one million coats of arms and about 700,000 surname histories. The software is updated annually with new names added.

What Do You Need? A computer of course, preferably a laptop if you are going to be out and about. And a colour printer. We use an A3 size but all the prints can be printed as A4, so the smaller printer would suffice.

Where Can You Sell? Anywhere. Some sub-licensees already have shops; some book space in shopping centres; others go to large markets and events like country shows, balloon festivals etc.

How Much Does It Cost? We have a licence which cost us rather a lot of money over 10 years ago. We also pay the research company £2.00 each time we extract a coat of arms or surname history from the database - we can't cheat as the software will not work without a 'dongle' attached to our computer; this holds credit and deducts the fee each time we press the print button! Sub-licensees do not pay an initial fee for a licence; instead they just pay each time they extract a file from the database. There is also a deposit for the dongle.

If you are interested in becoming a sub-licensee email us or phone Tony on 01280 820767.
